I'm going to have to make this entry short. Paul and I are invited to dinner at Dave and Jackie P's house over in Port Charlotte. They will be by to pick us up in 1 hour.
Great ride today. Short 44 miles, but oh so fun. Weather was just perfect again today. We stopped to take a photo near a park entrance and as we lined up for the photo I kept slapping my ankles and suddenly Peg looked down and said I was standing in a fire ant hill! I was crawling with the biting fire ants. Erika gave me some anti-sting stuff and saved my day! Most everyone started at 8:30 AM under perfect skies. There were groups of riders staying together, making for fun times. Everyone was in very early - before noon, and people were going off in many directions to discover other white sands beaches for this afternoon. I went downtown Venice to mail some postcards and checked out the shops. What a nice town.
Photos from today. Debbie M has been taking hundreds of photos. I will download them on to this computer and get another take on this trip from her perspective. Everyone takes different photos - telling different stories. Tonight the rest of the group is going north to a unique restaurant called Roaring 20's Pizza and Pipes. They have a huge organ there and it entertains everyone while they eat. Their website is great - includes a video with organ music
More later. . .
